The relevant information is for athlete, teens, parents, coaches and/or community personnel. This presentation shares the new and very interesting research on alcohol/drugs and the brain. Related information on sleep, energy drinks, etc. can be included if time allows. To personalize, a 15-20 minute DVD entitled, GABE (interview with a potential HS athlete from prison) can be integrated as well!

SITTOSIS: Interventional Strategies that can help for those who have to SIT too long.

The next person who implores you to “don’t just sit there” might be your physician. “Sittosis”, the lack of movement because of sitting too long, may be inhibiting the circulation of lipase, an enzyme that absorbs fat. Learn about the dangers of too much sitting and strategies to intervene when sitting long hours in the workplace or at home. Participants are free to stand during this session.
