Richard Detert, Ph. D. is a former university professor spending 40 years in Health Education and Health Promotion as a teacher, researcher, author, and program facilitator. He has co-authored four books on stress management and relaxation, five training manuals and has published over 40 articles. He has presented over a hundred professional presentations at the national, regional, state and local levels. Additionally, Dick has provided hundreds of in-services, workshops and seminars on a variety of health promotion topics blending knowledge, attitude and skill development. Dick has been honored six times by the state’s professional association for his teaching and services to the health education profession. During the past two decades, Dick has acquired the knowledge and skills in Chinese energy practices. He has practiced and taught Tai Chi Chih movements as an accredited teacher for 17 years. He is also an accredited teacher of Seijaku, an advanced version of T’ai Chi Chih. Dr. Detert has completed all four levels of training in Spring Forest Qigong, and most recently, completed training in Qi-sage, a combination of Chinese massage using forty-four of the meridian points in the body. Combined with the energy practices and educational experiences, Dr. Detert has an excellent background for implementing a wide variety of health promotion programs. Dr. Detert is the owner of his own business, New Dimensions for Health and Healing.

Thomas Kidd, M.E.P.D. is a former health educator with over 30 years of teaching experience. Tom completed his master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with the degree in professional development which included a corporate wellness focus. He continues his health promotion mission as a professional speaker, consultant, trainer and an adjunct university professor at several institutions. He uses high energy and his past experiences to provide a variety of relevant health/wellness presentations through keynotes, trainings, workshops and graduate level classes. Through his own business, Balanced Wellness, he passionately addresses over 100 wellness topics that both invigorates and captivates his audiences.
Dan Slowey, MS is a former health educator with a comprehensive health education masters degree from the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse. Presently Dan is a school administrator at a Middle School in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He is also a certified laughter leader and emanates his humor throughout all of his presentations. He has facilitated trainings, workshops and seminars involving educators, parents, youth and community members. His presentations are interactive, reflective and enthusiastic. Dan provides the necessary tools, life skills along with providing the inspiration to measurably improve the quality of people’s lives.
Keely Rees, Ph.D.
Keely Rees, Ph.D. is a professor in the Department of Health Education and Promotion at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. She received her master’s degree in exercise physiology and health behavior at South Dakota State University and her doctoral degree in community health education at the University of New Mexico. Her 18 years of research has focused on health issues such as pre-natal care, exercise prescription, behaviors during and after pregnancy, social support for pre-conception and prenatal nutrition, tobacco use during pregnancy, sexuality education, advocacy for young children, teens, parents, individuals with traumatic brain injury as well as with schools and community outreach programs in nutrition and exercise. Her professional career span has included working with a variety of partnerships which include school districts, corporations, hospitals, health departments and non-profit organizations.
